I'm a budding social media marketer, super-stylist, blogger and fashion nerd. I <3 disposable cameras, cupcakes, obscure Swedish bands, LND town and the taste of sea salt in the air. A hopeless romantic, with big hair, a bigger heart with Drum'n'Bass ripping through my veins.
Here’s a little list
of super beats
both vintage and fresh of the decks
that make me wanna
sing sigh laugh dance make love
leap freak diss and dismiss
The top iPod chooones, if only for this week, include:
Saint Etienne – Spring (Air France Remix): BAH! so good. It’s been ages since I’ve heard from the Swedes, and this remix is near perfect.
The Very Best – Warm Heart of Africa: The entire album is totes amaze. I must thank Tiy for bringing this record to my attention!
Fever Ray- If I Had a Heart: the video is sick, the song is sing, I will forever have a girl crush on Karin. Long live the Nordic, and their innate sense of cool.
MJ Cole – Be Sincere: An all time favorite, a classic. There are no fitting words that I can think of at this hour, to truly explain, how much this tune means to me.
White Lies – Death (Crystal Castles Remix)
Mc Solaar – Caroline: memories flit through in a haze here. happy ones I wish I would repeat over and over.
The Walkmen – The Rat
The XX – Crystalized
Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse – Little Girl (ft. Julian Casablancas) Took me ages to finally get my hands on the ‘Dark Night Of The Soul’ record. I try and listen to the entire album, lying in my room, as inky darkness presses upon my skin. Some think it depressing. I THRIVE, like an emo 13 year old, always thinking, always dreaming.
Sebastian Tellier – Roche: Sexy times, all the times.
White Lies – Unfinished Business

This super talented Atlanta based designer, continues to feed my zany knitwear addiction for the season.
I may have just spent hundreds of dollars while pouring over her accessory collection, all of which can be found at her Etsy shop.Filled with all kinds of goodies, such as super sized chain link scarves in sweetheart pink, to Minnie Mouse wool bows and deliciously warm wraps in oatmeal and more. All can be made to order in different styles, colors, lengths as well as thickness. The double needle wielding wunderkind has also announced a collaboration with hipster high-street brand ”Urban Outfitters.
Set to hit stores as well as online in November, right through in to the holiday season.
Possibly the best stocking stuffer of all time? YES.
Well for me anyway, so HINT HINT.
Oh Laing how I adore you.
I mean I do, oh how I do.
Early this fall, I stumbled about New York City.
With one permanent hang over and dressed black lace
I along with several media and fashion hounds
were herded in to Milk Studios elevator
and ushered in to Jeremy Laing’s gorgeously lit white open space.
Here stone face models stood still, like proper little mannequins,
creeping close I smiled.
Creating wonderfully wearable pieces, Laing had me from the start.
A mix of elegant androgyny, here dresses draped and fell across with no seam in sight.
The colour palette consisted mainly of peaches, nudes before spilling over in to darker hues.
I was particularly obsessed with a kaleidoscopic sheath dress,
swathed in blue, black and white inky strokes that seemed to line up in to a vanishing point.
My other favourites included the shorts /leggings, a paneled shift dress with a draped neck and the black pod like coat with an asymmetrical zipper detailing.
I found to entire collection beautiful,
each piece a stand alone
and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for Canada’s fashion Golden Child.
I may have professed my love for all things dark and lace as of late.
But one can’t help but fall in love with designer Yang Du’s “Buda” and “Pest” collection of fun and whimsical knitwear. A fanciful continuation from her last collection, the A/W 09 creations features pink giraffes, gigantic pom-poms, strawberries and watermelons. All of which seem to tumble about and explode on these fun over sized jumpers. Du has already managed to wrangle quite the cult following in Japan and her homeland China. Having spent some time travelling about India for her Spring 2010 collection, I really can’t wait to see what she manages to dream up next.
With scenes based heavily from the new film Harry Brown
Chase & Status create another big chuuuuune.
Harry Brown stars Michael Caine, Ben Drew (Plan B) and Emily Mortimer
and is set for a November release in the UK.
and mind you I have always had a HUGE crush on darling Ben.
As a member of the H&M family
I serve my dues 5 days a week
for roughly 44 hours
several stress headaches
and crazy back problems.
But there is a bonus
aside from the obvious discounts at H&M stores
we also get the lovely credit applied to Hennes & Mauritz‘s other super fashion houses COS and Weekday
I absolutely adore both stores,
and especially Weekday’s latest collaboration with Swedish designer, Stine Goya, which hits stores October 24th.
Known for her bold prints, clean cut lines
and her striking ability to combine both femininity and utilitarianism.
She’s been on my radar for some time now
and i really do wish i could get my hands on some of her peieces.
I shall sit and wait
until Stine AW09 collection or her Weekday wares
pop up in the lands of Ebay
my closet, safe and sound.
I was lucky enough to meet the super creative Matthieu Missiaen a little over a year ago.
When the Parisian and I stumbled about a dark and noisy Gatien owned club,
heaving masses pushed and pulled, fueled by deep house beats and blue pills.
Incredibly sweet, we sat, took a step back from the ruckus and discussed art, travel and his love for covering vintage shoes in his funky street design.
Now back in Paris with a new creative partner Julien Morin, the duo have taken DIY for a spin.
Together the are Le Creativ Sweatshop, and have managed to turn their obsession with packaging culture in to a collection of fashion pieces including paper heels, furnishings and an art installation for a Nissan advertorial.
I hear whisperings of great things to come for these two,
so i will sit and wait patiently
eagerly anticipating what these DIY wunderkinds will come up with next.
